  2. Request your data regularly from apps you use. Most apps with any European users (GDPR compliance) offer data export. Download your data while the company still exists to have your own copy.
  3. Request deletion when you stop using an app. Don’t just uninstall — go through the formal deletion process while the company’s servers are still running.
  4. Be cautious about what you share with AI companionship and health apps specifically. These collect the most sensitive information and are in the sector with the highest startup failure rate.
