Editorial Policy
Last updated: March 2026
This Editorial Policy describes the standards and principles that govern all content published on RealTalkUSA. We publish it publicly because we believe our readers deserve to understand how we work and what we stand for.
Our Mission
RealTalkUSA exists to provide honest, well-researched answers to the questions Americans are actually searching for — particularly questions that are underserved by mainstream media and content farms. We prioritize genuine usefulness over search engine optimization, and accuracy over click-generating sensationalism.
Content Standards
Accuracy
Every factual claim in our articles must be supportable by credible evidence. We cite primary sources — government agencies, peer-reviewed research, established expert organizations — wherever possible. We do not cite other blogs or content websites as primary sources of factual claims.
When we make errors, we correct them promptly and transparently. Corrections are noted within the article with the correction date.
Originality
All content published on RealTalkUSA is original. We do not aggregate, rewrite, or spin content from other websites. Our articles reflect original research, analysis, and writing.
Transparency About Uncertainty
We acknowledge when evidence is limited, when expert opinion is divided, or when questions do not have clear answers. We do not present uncertain conclusions as settled facts.
Currency
We review and update articles when significant relevant information changes. Date of last review or update is noted on articles where this is relevant.
Sources
We prioritize the following source hierarchy:
- Primary research and data (government statistics, peer-reviewed studies)
- Established expert organizations (medical associations, academic institutions)
- Reporting from established news organizations with editorial standards
- Expert commentary from credentialed, named sources
We do not use anonymous sources for factual claims. We do not cite Wikipedia as a primary source.
Editorial Independence
Our editorial content is produced independently of our advertising and commercial relationships. Advertisers and affiliate partners have no influence over our editorial decisions, content choices, or conclusions. We do not accept payment for positive coverage.
Conflicts of Interest
Our writers and editors disclose any potential conflicts of interest relevant to content they produce. We do not write favorable coverage of companies or products in which we have a financial interest without disclosure.
Affiliate and Commercial Relationships
When we recommend products or services through affiliate links, we disclose this relationship clearly. Our recommendations reflect genuine assessment of value to our readers. Affiliate commission potential does not determine which products we recommend.
Sensitive Topics
We approach sensitive topics — including mental health, personal finance hardship, and relationship difficulties — with care, accuracy, and respect for the real situations our readers are navigating. We do not sensationalize or exploit difficult circumstances for engagement.
Medical and Health Content
Health and medical content on this Site is reviewed against current medical literature and guidelines. We always note that our content is informational only and does not constitute medical advice. We include recommendations to consult healthcare professionals for personal health decisions.
Reader Feedback and Corrections
We welcome corrections and feedback from readers. To report an error or concern about our content, contact corrections@realtalkusa.com. All corrections are evaluated and addressed within 48 hours.
